Currently I have two longer works of fiction in production, Blackbeard’s Last Voyage, a romp through the seven seas for the younger reader, and The Elytra Complex, an altogether different work, darker, and more complex. This piece, Turning, point? is effectively an alternative opening/teaser, written for a competition which specified 900 words and the inclusion of the phrase ‘turning point’ into the body text.
I also dabble with the odd piece in the shorter form, such as The Old Man and the Sea (2011) Nigel, Prince of Darkness (2001), Don’t Disturb Mr Evans (2001), or No regrets, my first ever piece, written in the mid 1990s at 3am in Sweden.
